MASSACHUSETTS LOVES NEW YORK

The Massachusetts tourism industry is taking Mayor Rudolph Guiliani up on his appeal to come to New York City and assist in the City’s economic recovery.

The "MA Loves NY" initiative was developed in partnership with the 13 regional tourism councils in
Massachusetts .    Olympia Brescia, president of Ambassador Travel Service and Global Marketing Alliance is working in conjunction with Celyta Jackson, vice president of NYC & Co., New York City ’s convention & visitors bureau, to organize a whirlwind New York “City Break” on October 28 and 29, 2001.  Members of Massachusetts ’ tourism industry, their families and friends, will pay $295 per person, double occupancy for the inclusive package which features

  • round-trip transportation between Boston and New York via Amtrak,
  • one night’s stay at the landmark Roosevelt Hotel located at Madison and 45th,
  • a New York City sightseeing tour with Gray Line of New York ,
  • tickets to Broadway’s newest comedy hit, “The Full Monty”,
  • dinner at one of New York ’s most dazzling dining experiences, Tavern on the Green restaurant overlooking Central Park ,
  • followed by cool jazz at Harlem ’s legendary Cotton Club,
  • and lots of time for participants to shop ‘till they drop with discount shopping coupons courtesy of Bloomingdales.

All 13 regional tourism council directors from across Massachusetts are inviting their members to join them in contributing to the New York economy while helping to rebuild consumer confidence in travel.

The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce is hosting its fourth annual golf classic at the Captain’s Course (Port) in Brewster , Massachusetts on October 18, 2001 .  This great day of golf will begin with registration starting at 7 am, breakfast then shot gun start at 8:30 am followed by lunch, plenty of prizes, sports memorabilia raffle and loads of fun to celebrate this fourth annual outing.
